Connect Your Laptop to Your Television

It's fun to watch your desktop's activity like youtube videos, images on large screens. There are many ways to connect your laptop to your TV screen. 
VGA Cable

1. VGA Cable - Almost every old PC has an VGA port which is a 15 pin. Using VGA cable you can connect your laptop or CPU to a TV.


HDMI DVI Cable
2. HDMI-DVI Cable - These days every Television, Laptop, Desktop & smartphones are coming with an HDMI port. Using HDMI to DVI cable you can connect Laptop, PC, Samrtphone to your Television DVI port.


Video Audio Cables
3. Video-Audio Cables - Most PC's have S-Video port using S-Video cable connect one end to Laptop and other end to Your TV. Then using Mini plug to RCA connector plug in the mini plug to your laptop headset port and connect red connector to red socket and black connector to black socket of your Television.


Depending on ports there are variety of connectors available like VGA to DVI connector, VGA to HDMI connector etc. 


Based on the connected port switch your TV channel to AV1 or Av2(Video1 or Video2). Once you are connected go to display settings in your control panel and select your desktop sharing option. If you are using Windows 7 or 8 press windows+P and select display options. Adjust your screen resolution so that you can see pixel free videos and images on your TV screen.

  1. Once the VGA is connected to the laptop, the video is disabled from any streaming video source. Everything else is there...but not the streaming video. Does it have something to do with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) ?   what do you do to work with it? In the meantime I cannot view Youtube or other video sources on the LCD TV...
